One of the reasons we work so well with CROs is that we are not competitors. Sponsors usually contact us in the early stages, so we are often asked to suggest or select a CRO. Once a CRO is in place, we meet in person or via teleconference and clarify the responsibilities for each party. Sponsors can elect to use just SCLRC sites or a combination of SCLRC sites and direct contracts with the Sponsor of CRO. For example, if a Sponsor has a partially-enrolled trial with sites dropping out unexpectedly, they can make up the difference in anticipated study enrollment by getting SCLRC involved. Or, if Sponsors are behind on enrollment goals and need to enroll quickly, they can select all of our sites in order to reach study milestones.
